Program Name: Winter Shelter
Program Description: The winter shelter typically operates 24 hrs/day, 7 days/week from mid-November to mid-March (Shelter opens on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 8:00 am but is taking pre-intakes on Monday November 23 from 8-12 pm, and Tuesday November 24 from 8-12 pm; go to site location to sign-up) every year and offers beds, meals, showers, and access to comprehensive services provided by Alpha Project and other partners including physical and mental health services, case planning, access to housing, employment services, and other referrals. The shelter is available to men and women agse 18 and older. Priority is given to seniors and individuals with disabilities.
Curfew  8:00 p.m.
Eligibility  Accepts emancipated minors
  Accepts men and women 18 years and up
  Accepts married and unmarried couples without children (separate sleeping quarters)
  Accepts persons with disabilities who can care for themselves
  Accepts persons in wheelchairs
  Accepts undocumented persons
  Accepts persons with mental or emotional disturbances
  Accepts persons with alcohol or drug abuse problems
  Accepts persons with HIV/AIDS

Fees  No fees charged.
Hours/Days of Operation  Shelter opens on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 but is taking pre-intakes on Monday November 23 from 8-12 pm, and Tuesday November 24 from 8-12 pm; go to site location to sign-up).

Intake Procedure  Walk-in Walk in. Intake at 8:00 am daily. Priority is given to seniors and physically disabled individuals. All other remaining beds are on a first come first serve basis.
